This is something we have had in the works for a long time. Anybody have any guesses as to what it is?
While we were applying rust converter to the frame, we noticed a crack where the rear, lower control arm mount meets the frame. This is a common place for these trucks to develop a crack. In fact we noticed the same crack on both sides of the truck. This will have to be cleaned and rewelded.
The old interior was very dirty and the plastic was cracking. We decided to remove the old and replace it with a better interior from a donor vehicle. While working on that, we noticed that the sealant between body panels was deteriorated in some places. It was letting water in under the carpet and causing rust. We removed most of the rust, treated the rest, and resealed the panels where it needed it. The newer interior was then installed.
